How to add an llms.txt page to your HubSpot website

HubSpot does not allow you to add files to the root directory of your website (e.g. https://www.yourwebsite.com/llms.txt) and, at the time of writing this post, there are currently no plans to add an option for llms.txt files.

However, as a workaround, you can follow this steps:

  1. Create an llms.txt file
  2. Upload the llms.txt file to your HubSpot File Manager
    1. Find the file's URL by clicking into the file's Details > Copy URL
  3. Create a URL redirect from https://www.yourwebsite.com/llms.txt to the llms.txt file's URL in the File Manager

How do I create my llms.txt file?

There are plenty of free llms.txt generators out there or you could even use an LLM of your choice to help you create one.

Note that llms.txt is a simply a proposal and has not been widely adopted by LLMs at this time. Standard SEO and accessibility practices are still the best way for LLMs to access, crawl and interpret your website information
